About Steam Mills Lake

Steam Mills is a large, deep lake situated just the other side of Cinderford and boasts a wide variety of fish. Although it can be a tough lake to fish, when it's on form you can get some fantastic bags of Carp and Bream.  It is a very deep that was once an open cast mine!  Even the it is very deep the fish do come in close.  Carp run well into the twenties, Bream and Tench approaching 9Ib (and lots of them)
The lake is fed from a small stream which is a breading area for wild Brown Trout and if you are lucky enough you can see the deer taking a drink from the stream. or even wild boar digging the path up!
There are a couple of pegs on the lake which are designed for disabed Anglers and almost all of the pegs are easily accessible.  Again the lake is used for a few matches so please check the following link for more details http://www.fodac-online.org.uk/events.asp

His catch also included a number of small chub, up to a pound and a number of roach, rudd and the odd tench.
